Dr. Marcu is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist.  He is the Lead Instructor for the PPSC Functional Anatomy Course.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and his Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University.  He was named a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor’s medical society.  After graduation he completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he was earned honors such as resident educator of the year and the resident research award.  Dr. Marcu has authored studies and papers that have been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals, including research on the biomechanics of rotator cuff injuries.  He has also taught other surgeons as an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Marcu values training as part of a healthy lifestyle. He has used training to recover from injury himself.  He has earned is CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and he is an advocate for the power of the preventative-based training model as a Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC).  As a lifelong educator, Dr. Marcu’s mission is to continue to build and strengthen the multidisciplinary model of injury prevention through intelligent training, rehabilitation and medicine.
